Event Info: Do you teach or volunteer at a nature center, museum or other nonformal education facility? Do you enjoy the out-of doors and share that joy with children? Need ideas for outdoor adventures or inside fun during stormy days? Gear up for simple, inexpensive activities that keep your group interested while learning. This hands-on Project Learning Tree (PLT) workshop is geared toward the nonformal educator and includes Zoo admission and tour, PLT PreK-8 Activity Guide and more. Learn how PLT activities are correlated to the state standards; incorporate those activities into your program to bring more schools to your program. $40/person or $75 for 2 or $90 for 3 from same group or organization. Upon completion of workshop, participants are qualified as PLT Educators and are connected to the national program.
Registration: Find financial assistance information, download the registration form or contact the Connecticut Forest & Park Association at 860-346-2372 or info@ctwoodlands.org for these details.
More info about PLT can be found on www.plt.org. The Connecticut Forest & Park Association co-coordinates the PLT program in the state along with the CT Department of Environmental Protection. CFPA thanks the Zoo for hosting this educational event.
