Become a Peabody/Beardsley/Maritime FrogWatch Citizen Scientist!
Would you like to help the environment? Do you know of a wetland near you with frogs calling? The Yale Peabody Museum, Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, and The Maritime Aquarium are looking for volunteers to help monitor frog populations in nearby wetlands during the spring and summer. The time commitment is 15 minutes one or two times per week, 1/2 hour after sunset. Older children are recommended as one half hour after sunset can be after 9 PM in the summer. You do not have to be a frog expert as training is provided. Training is free for members of our institutions and returning families; $10 for non-member families. There are three workshops to choose from:
- Wednesday, Feb 22 at The Maritime Aquarium, 10 N. Water St., Norwalk
- Wednesday, March 1 at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport
- Wednesday, March 8 at Yale’s Peabody Museum of Natural History in New Haven
Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance. Please click here to register.
